🎨 Picking a Section ID

A personal summary narrowed to two questions: which ID to take on a first character, and which ID to take on an extra one. Every claim carries its source. Facts such as what only one ID drops, or whether Red Ring is on the table, are generated from the official drop charts.

Which ID for a first character

Which ID for an extra character

For reference: how the wiki class guides order them
Which IDs drop the items this class cares about (O = yes, · = no)

Hover an O for the episode, the source and the rate. Click a column header to highlight that ID. Do not compare the rates against each other — they exclude how often rare enemies appear and how many spawn.

    Other things worth knowing

    • Your ID comes from the combination of class and name. You pick the class first, then the name; if you do not get the ID you wanted, /modsecid changes it once, while you are below level 20. At level 20 it is locked.
    • Only the host's Section ID decides drops — some of the commons and all of the rares. Your own ID does nothing when you join someone else's room.
    • The daily forecast gives a class/gender rare-rate bonus, but it caps at 5% and rotates every day. That is small next to the 25% weekly boost or Ragol Boost Road, so it is not a reason to pick a class.
    • The tables below are for Ultimate. Which IDs drop an item changes with difficulty (for example Fire Scepter: Agni does not drop in Ultimate at all — it comes from Pinkal and others in Normal through Very Hard).
    • An O does not tell you how often you will meet the source. If it is a rare enemy, that is a separate question — the 1/N figure is the chance per kill of that enemy and ignores how many spawn.
    • Yellowboze has a different kind of upside: more meseta, and a higher chance of percentages, in Episode 1 only.
    • ES and S-rank weapons are Challenge Mode rewards, so they have nothing to do with your ID.

    Common weapon type rates

These are the odds that a common weapon that drops is of that type — not the odds of a weapon dropping at all. This is what matters if you want to find your own high-hit commons. Saber, Handgun and Cane are fixed at 13% for every ID, so they never differentiate.

    Exclusive to one ID

Items that drop from exactly one ID in Ultimate. The per-ID Cards, DB's Sabers, Flowen's Swords and Heart of… items are left out, since every ID has one of each by design.
